
Experts Reveal the Role of Apple Cider Vinegar for Gas Relief and Bloating

One of the main symptoms of weight gain is bloating. Most people experience bloating, or the abnormal rounding of their bellies especially after they eat heavily processed food. How can we de-bloat ourselves? Can we use apple cider vinegar to reduce our bloating? Here’s what the experts have to say.
The Miracle Drink
According to studies, ACV is known as the miracle drink that cures everything from your cold down to your yeast infections. This makes most people assume that ACV can also help in de-bloating. But does it really? According to a cardiovascular ICU dietitian Ashley Amaral, R.D., the ACV probiotics can help in improving your gut health.
She reiterates that ACV is rich in acetic acid, known as the byproduct of sugars from fermented apples. Another active ingredient found in ACV named Pectin also helps in aiding digestion to lessen bloating. Amaral says pectin is a type of soluble fiber typically found in ripe fruits like apple, and is beneficial for colonic health and regular bowel movement.

These probiotics help spread the healthy bacteria to improve your gut health and promote regular bowel movements which may lead to less bloating.
While this scientific theory makes sense, the other health experts say there is still no clear evidence nor studies conducted to support it. Meanwhile, the other experts claim the amount of pectin found in the actual apple fruit is way higher than in one tablespoon of fermented ACV.
You’d have to drink at least a quarter cup of ACV for the pectin to take effect in your gut. Meanwhile, they suspect the good bacteria found in ACV are unlikely to survive the stomach’s acidity.
Should You Try ACV To Treat Bloating?
Whether you want to use ACV to treat bloating or not is ultimately your choice. However, Amaral gave these guidelines to those who want to try incorporating ACV in their healthy diet. The probiotics found in ACV helps boost the nutritional value found in your healthy meals. However, Amaral warns about overloading yourself with ACV.

You can incorporate Apple Cider Vinegar in your marinades and salad dressings to make your meals healthier.
According to her, you don’t need drinking a quarter of cup’s ACV to reap the full benefits of pectin since it can seriously harm your body. ACV has high acidic levels to the point where drinking 1 tablespoon of pure ACV can lead to tooth enamel erosion, acid reflux, and irritable digestive levels. In serious cases, it can also dip your potassium levels, which can affect your muscles and nerves’ functionality. If you want to drink ACV, it is recommended to mix 1 tablespoon of ACV with 1 cup of water to dilute the vinegar’s acidity.

Regulate Your Blood Sugar Levels.
According to studies, Apple Cider Vinegar helps in lowering the blood sugar in type 2 Diabetics. The acidity and probiotics found in ACV help in burning the refined carbs and sugars you take – which is the primary culprit behind diabetes, aging, inflammation, and chronic diseases. You can mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and water before bedtime to reduce your blood sugar levels by 4%.
It Helps in Losing Weight

Drinking Apple Cider Vinegar also helps in weight loss and shrinking your waistline.
Studies show that drinking at least one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar every day help suppress your appetite and make you feel fuller and satiate you for a longer period of time. This enables you to eat fewer calories (around 200-275 less calorie consumption every day) and lose as much as 2.6 pounds off your weight. Increasing your daily intake up to two tablespoons can lead to losing 3.7 pounds. Of course, Amaral says you should also incorporate healthy diet and exercise to achieve the optimum health results.
